The Ashby Big Band
The Ashby Big Band was formed in March 2006 by a group of local
musicians initially as a rehearsal band, but has now reached a standard
to challenge the best Big Bands in the area. The band is a full 17 +
piece swing band with Saxes, Trumpets, Trombones and Rhythm
section - the same formation as Glenn Miller, Ted Heath or a name
that the younger generation will know ... Jools Holland's Rhythm and
Blues Orchestra.
Many of the musicians are classically trained and welcome this
opportunity to let their hair down and have some fun with swing music.
